This gas is considered one of the most famous gas fire extinguishing gases. Low cost gas, non-damage to electronic equipment,

high speed operation, non-hazardous nature, ease of recharging, and the ability to exhaust a wide range of materials are among

the benefits of this gas. The carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless, dry and non-destructive gas and one of the most familiar chemicals.

Because this gas is heavier than air, it covers and smothers the fire. After extinguishing the fire, it evaporates and does not leave a trace.

The great disadvantage of Co2 is that since a large amount of it is necessary for fire extinguishing, the concentration of CO2 design for

fire extinguishing is at least 34% and results in death in less than 30 seconds. For this reason, there is a pneumatic delay and safety requirements

for these systems, so that all employees can quickly get out of the room before evacuating gas.Also, CO2 is a powerful gas-fired coolant in

the environment,causing direct contact with people.

The storage space for CO2 is four times higher than the 1301 halon and twice the FM200.CO2 gas is completely clean with

the benefits of extinguishing, anti-rust and electrical insulation, and immediately disappears after function and does not leave any trace. 

This gas extinguishes the fire in the early stages, and this is done by spraying gas on the site and reducing the oxygen and temperature in

the atmosphere around the material that is burning, so that no more fire remains. This gas has an excellent effect on class B, C and NFPA

American standards, and in Class B, the European Standard BS has a great effect, and in Group A, both standards have a moderate effect, so

the use of this gas for class A (such as paper, fabric, plastics and ...) should be performed at a very high level, which is usually not recommended.

When discharged, CO2 gas causes the environment to cool and dilute the oxygen in the air, as far as possible to eliminate the possibility of fire or

explosion. This gas is kept at a normal temperature in a cylindrical cylinder under a pressure of about 750 Psi as liquid.

The mode of operation of this gas is that it expands as soon as it is discharged, causing severe flooding in the place of descent due to its

high velocity and sudden increase in volume. As it is in the form of dry ice, it forms a medium in the form of a white cloud, and it is absorbed

into the atmosphere by gas.

 CO2 fire extinguishing systems are available depending on the location and type of use in both high pressure and low pressure.

The design concentration of this gas based on NFPA-12 is at least 34% and above, depending on the type of fire.
