Fire coupling

A coupling is a connector at the end of a hose, actually refers to the tools used to connect fire hoses to each other or to connect hoses to water supply equipment, and is usually made of steel, brass, stainless steel, aluminum or plastic. Storz Coupling (German)
Storz Couplings are standard fittings that connect fire hoses, especially large diameters, to fire hydrants, pumps and inlets to supply water to fire sprinklers or standpipe systems. It is enough to turn the two parts of the coupling and connect different firefighting tools to it. This coupling model was invented in Switzerland by a person named Carl August Guido Storz, and after many years it was officially used in the fire departments of Germany. Storz coupling is also widely used in Iran. Storz coupling is made of aluminum due to its lightness and resistance to rust.
Italian Coupling (UNI)
The Italian coupling (UNI) is made of stainless steel and offers numerous advantages compared to similar couplers. This coupling model has a gasket to prevent water leakage and is available in all models due to its wide use, and its quick connection is considered one of its advantages, and its connection to pipes made of different materials with different external diameters is simple and easy. Is. According to the basic principle of the UNI connection in Italy, the Italian coupling (UNI) has high safety and flexibility and has a male and female structure and is of the type of threaded couplings and has an easy installation technology. One of the advantages of this coupling is resistance to pressure and temperature, and it is anti-leak even with incorrect pipe assembly. NH coupling
NH stands for National Hose and NST stands for National Standard Thread and has a gasket for sealing and is widely used in the field of water supply and suction. This cooling model is popular in many fire hydrants and accessories and is widely used by firefighters in the United States. These couplings have a male and female structure and a threaded connection connects the two.
Barcelona coupling
Barcelona couplers consist of three interconnected branches that provide an efficient quick connection and disconnection system. They are made of aluminum and metal and in Spain they have many uses in the field of water supply (this coupling model cannot be used for suction). Barcelona couplings are designed and manufactured as a pair of quick couplings for water hoses. Fittings are widely used in construction, garage, agriculture or civil facilities. These couplings do not have male or female connectors, and as you can see in the figure below, they have three tabs for connection.
Coupling ROTTA & GOST (Russian)
Gost and Rotta couplers are in accordance with the Russian standard. GOST has a 2-branch system and ROTTA has a 3-branch system. Both have symmetrical connection systems and their ingredients are brass and aluminum. Gost coupling is widely used in firefighting equipment for suction and Rotta type, which is mainly used in ships for delivery operations with a maximum working pressure of 16bar. Popular and widely used sizes are DN 50 and DN 70.
Guillemin Symmetrical Coupling or French Coupling
The Guillemin coupling is a symmetrical system and is suitable for various applications, including water supply, which is used in France and Belgium. Its success is mostly due to the form that enables complete and easy closing, in fact, two components are connected to each other by rotating the coupling by hand and with a rotation angle of 45 degrees. In small sizes you will be able to couple the fittings by hand, but in large sizes you will need a wrench. Guillemin coupling is made of stainless steel, aluminum, copper and polypropylene.
Nakajima Coupling (Japanese)
Japanese Nakajima fire fittings are a series of metal fire fittings which include 3 different size options, JIS 65A, JIS 50A and JIS40A. This Japanese coupling model does not have a male or female, which is used for water supply in firefighting and cannot be used for suction purposes. These fire fighting connections are usually used in various marine industries. Machino Coupling (Japanese)
Machino Coupling (Japanese) is a hard and solid piece connected to the fire hose used in Japan. This coupling is used to connect the hose to hydrants or fire pumps and other hose devices (nozzle, claw, etc.) and has a male and female structure. The material used in Machino coupling structure is brass or aluminum alloy and has a maximum working pressure of 16bar and is made according to JIS standard.
Norwegian Coupling (Norlas)
Norwegian Norlas coupling is a hard and strong piece and is used to connect hose to hydrants or fire pumps and other hose devices (nozzle, claw, etc.). Norlas Blank chain caps are designed to protect male outlet threads. Also, valves and hydrants prevent the entry of foreign materials. This coupling is made of brass or bronze and has a chain. This coupling is used in water supply for fire fighting and offshore oil structures.
Camlock coupling
Camlock Couplings are also known as Cam and Groove Couplings because they are made with grooves that allow different styles to be sealed together. These couplings have two components, male and female, and arms are installed on the female part to couple the connection. Simple structure and easy operation make them very popular. This coupling includes a variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and Camlock and polypropylene hose fittings. This aluminum piece is connected to the hydrant or threaded coupling on the valve head and the other end is closed to the hydrant connected to the nozzle, hence they are also called aluminum coupling or connection. It should be noted that Cam Lock hose fittings are used in many different industries and applications, including the transfer of fluids in the petroleum and chemical industries, and to a lesser extent in firefighting applications, it is important when choosing the right Cam and Groove fittings. Pay attention to the chemical compatibility of the process fluid and process temperature. It is best if Camlock hose fittings are made to Mill Mill specifications to ensure proper mating of the male and female adapter and cam connection at all times.
